No, not the Ducks victory over Texas Tech (YAY!) Much more interesting is the fruit bowl in our room, which is replenished daily with a variety of, well…fruit. Whatever we consume is quickly replaced. A few days ago we ate a particularly good orange and in making small talk with the lovely people that manage the rooms, we said something to the effect of “orange….good” and our bowl suddenly had two oranges. Word of our intense passion for oranges must have spread like wildfire because we subsequently had 3 oranges, and today FIVE oranges. I haven’t eaten five oranges in five years, so this citrus fruit situation seems to be spinning out of control. Do I tell them to stop the orange onslaught (and risk offense); leave them in the bowl uneaten and hope they stop multiplying; or, start chucking them at passing seabirds and assume that the ship stores will eventually run out? These are the things we are concerned about on our “at sea” days.
